The Biggest Announcement of Google: The Ultra-Fast Google Fiber Is Coming To Four Metro Cities

Do you love 1Gbps Internet services? If so, its an awesome news for you!! Google Fiber is about to expand its services much more aggressively. The news is confirmed! The tech giant has now announced to spread its fabulous high speed fiber optic internet service to across four metropolitan areas: Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, N.C. This powerful internet speed provided by Google Fiber surpasses 1000Mbps (1 gigabit).

Last year, the internet giant declared that was considering nine metropolitan cities for the extension, comprising the four that got finally selected. Google is yet to announce certain plans for the remaining five cities. The company further stated that it is continuing to explore in order to bring the Fiber to five metro areas as well including Portland, Phoenix, San Antonio, Salt Lake City and San Jose and also will feature updates about these budding Fiber cities later this year.

The expansion of this potent internet connectivity is likely to help the U.S. play catch-up with countries which have used amazing and super-fast internet services. For long, the US endlessly was rated behind the countries such as South Korea, Japanand the Czech Republic in terms of the cost of the broadband internet and the speed. Google wants a change in the scenario!

In 2010, Google Fiber started as an experiment. Apparently to show the world how high speed internet actually looks like and hopefully to offshoot much investment from the broadband providers of the country. Soon after its launch in Kansas City in 2012, the company understood that it would require a lot more than a single testbed to begin a revolution in the broadband speeds and Eric Schmidt, the chairman of Google swore to spread the service to more and more areas. In the very year, he told the New York Times, “It’s actually not an experiment; we’re actually running it as a business.” Later in 2013, Google declared Austin as its second metro area and attained a prevailing fiber service in Provo, Utah.

With this most ambitious expansion, your home is now set to receive Fiber service.
